LAKE NAILIG DAUIN, NEG. OR., MT. TALINIS
We took a ride via personal motorcycle going to Brgy. Magsaysay, Dauin, where we started our journey to Lake Nailig, we leave our motorcycle at sitio Bidjao (The foot of the mountain) then started walking and hiking early in the morning after our quick breakfast. we hike at about 3 to 4 hours reaching to the first lake which is called Lake Yagumyuman wherein we had our lunch and short rest. all in all we took another 1 hr walking/hiking going to Lake Nailig and finally we reached the very tricky sometimes slippery yet wonderfully amazing one of the high lights nature preserved lake. the hard work and the effort of going there will be automatically vanished because it is really worth it to be discovered and actually we encountered other groups like the Quernos de Negros and the biology class of Foundation University who had made their study there and we as the "YFC-Dauin Team", it's really fun and enjoyable. well as what we have gathered some short information, according to the teacher of the biology class, the Lake Nailig is also called the Crater Lake because it is once a Volcano for how many years had past though it's no longer active before it became a lake. sometimes during night time, the temperature would be 8.5 degree Celsius so it's really really very cold... well it is surrounded with virgin forest and other animal species and really had the chance to experienced it all in all the beauty that a lot of people might still don't experience it...Thank God..

LAKE BALANAN SIATON, NEG. OR.
WATER SPRING SWIMMING POOL

WATERFALLS
Lake Balanan in Siaton
Lake Balanan is a freshwater lake found deep in the mountains of Barangay Sandulot in Siaton , a municipality in the southern portion of Negros Oriental province. The lake is bounded by mountain ranges and fed by three streams, the Lamarao Creek in the northeast, the Balanan creek in the middle and the Nasig-id in the northwestern end.

In the 1920’s a tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 in the Richter scale shook the island causing landslides in the Southern ends of both the Balanan and Nasig-id ranges in Siaton. This ultimately resulted in the formation of a figure eight shaped water reservoir, the narrowest point between the two larger portions of the lake being only 90 meters wide.
Soon after the quake a small village began to emerge at the nearby hills and along the banks, feeding mainly from the fishes in the lake and getting enough water supplies too. The quality of soil around the area was also good for agricultural crops. In the early 1990’s the local government expressed interest in promoting its eco-tourism and developing the area as a tourist attraction in the province. There are also plans to provide a habitat for the people living along the banks under very poor conditions.
